24 Hours of Light? Your Plants Are Not Machines.

Many people believe that the longer the lamp runs, the better the plant grows. But plants do not only need light — they need rhythm.

The idea sounds logical: if light drives growth, then 24 hours of light must be even better. More light, more growth, more yield. This is where one of the most dangerous mistakes in indoor cultivation begins.

Plants are not production machines that can simply be exposed to light nonstop. They respond to both light and darkness. Photoperiodism — the response to day length — influences development, flowering and growth in many plant species. Some plants strongly depend on the length of light and dark periods within a 24-hour cycle. Even more directly: plants should not automatically be illuminated without limits. Extension sources often recommend not running artificial light endlessly; for many indoor plants, about 14 to 16 hours of light per day is commonly described as a useful range, depending on crop and goal. The uncomfortable truth: running light for 24 hours does not prove professionalism. It only proves that the light is not being controlled. FLORIQ was built for the opposite. Not constant blasting. Not blind switching. But planned light phases, dimming and controllable intensity. Plants do not need more chaos. They need rhythm. More light is not automatically better. Better light is better.
